Here are the general steps for tuning your skis or snowboard:

  1. Clean the base: Use a plastic scraper or a nylon brush to remove any dirt, debris, or old wax from the base of your skis or snowboard. Make sure the base is clean and dry before moving on to the next step.

  2. Sharpen the edges: Use an edge sharpening tool to sharpen the edges of your skis or snowboard. Work from tip to tail, and use a file guide to maintain a consistent angle. Be careful not to remove too much material and to keep the edge at the correct angle.

  3. Apply wax: Use an iron to melt a coat of wax onto the base of your skis or snowboard. Use a wax scraper to remove excess wax, then use a brush to smooth out the wax and create a polished finish.

  4. Buff the base: Use a polishing pad or cork block to buff the base of your skis or snowboard. This will help smooth out any bumps or rough spots and improve the glide of your equipment.

While it's always recommended to have your equipment tuned by a professional, it's also possible to do it yourself with the right tools and some know-how. If you have any questions you can always contact us here
